Our nervous systems and body are tracking everything that happens to us. They do this to help record what they know has kept us alive in the past, so they can recreate that in the present and in the future.
At Pathwaves, we help our clients practice communicating with the different levels of the psyche using a toolbox of proven techniques and methods to calm the reactive mind.
We teach them how each level of the “mind” operates, and the nuances of how each level interacts with each nervous system in the body. We also teach how the different lobes of the brain come into play.
Each of these “parts” within us have a unique understanding of what their purpose is, as it relates to their individual physical function.
Current state of mind also directly affects this process.
For example, if someone has experienced anxiety on a daily basis for a number of years, that emotional and physical response has been programmed into both the mind and the body.
The reason it’s so difficult to alter a state of mind without professional help is because learning a new way to operate requires effort – the conditioned response, in this case anxiety, must be reprogrammed, and the “wiring” for the desired response doesn’t exist yet.
Often, this effort is perceived as resistance, and is deemed as “too difficult” and abandoned.
Moving Towards A Place Of Love
The sessions in the Pathwaves Basic Training are ordered on purpose.
The final session in this Path comes after shifting states of mind, beliefs and perspectives, and directing the body to release old patterns in order to start creating new patterns.
Amidst all this change in the many different regions, levels and parts of us, it is now time to get all of those different regions, levels and parts of us on the same page.
That is why this final session is called “I Am Resolved.” It’s time for all systems to start functioning with the same overall purpose, beliefs, mindset and vision.
In this session, the self-direction is to live as much from “love” as possible. In order to effectively communicate to all parts and levels of ourselves, it is important to practice the tools and techniques we have taught throughout the Path.
Visualize, think about, feel gratitude for and celebrate this time to shift from living in fear, and attempting to escape it, towards a healthier way of being – thriving instead of surviving.
It is time to stop “coping”, and start living.
We use a specific mantra for this, which begins with, “I am resolved to…” and then direct our clients to visualize, think about, agree with, feel gratitude for, and celebrate their new purpose, mindset, beliefs, perspectives, and vision.
Continue to perform this self-direction daily, and this new optimal way of living will become the automatic response.
Pathwaves NeuroEmpowerment™: Basic Training
The Pathwaves Basic Training Path includes 10 visits that introduce our clients to what’s possible when you take control of your nervous system, or achieve what we call NeuroEmpowerment™.
Session 1: Hello Nerves
In the first session – called “Hello Nerves” – we teach the techniques to clear the way for the transformation to come. This gives clients a taste of what it is like to experience a calm nervous system, even if it’s just for a few moments. This primes the neural pathways for a new way of operating, which continue to be tweaked and reinforced in the sessions to come.
Session 2: Calming The Reactive Mind
In the second session – called “Calming The Reactive Mind” – we lead our clients through the process outlined above to calm the autonomic nervous system and reduce fight-or-flight responses. This lays the foundation for the rest of the work we do together to get out of survival mode, and into thriving.
Session 3: Programming Sleep, Mood, and An Ambient Sound (SMASS)
In the third session – called “Sleep, Mood and An Ambient Sound (SMASS)” – we focus on training the nervous system – and all the different systems within the body – to work more in sync with each other, and specifically to improve sleep and mood.
Session 4: Changing Perspective – Be Your Own Best Friend
In the fourth session – called “Changing Perspective – Be Your Own Best Friend” – we begin shifting perspectives in order for our clients to treat themselves as their own best friend, love themselves more, and become a “Human Being” rather than a “Human Doing”. This in turn allows them to start enjoying life more fully in the now.
Session 5: Clean the “Conditions of Worth” House
In the fifth session – called “Clean ‘Conditions of Worth’ House” – we teach tools and techniques designed to release trapped emotions, such as fear, and negative belief systems which are aversely affecting the nervous system daily so they can clear the path to sustainable change.
Session 6: Sleep Deep Dive
In the sixth session – called “Sleep Deep Dive” – we help clients entrain their nervous system to harness the power of sleep for rejuvenation and reinforcing healthier ways to function.
Session 7: Mind Body Connection
In the seventh session – called “The Mind Body Connection House” – we help clients direct their bodies to release old patterns and to create new positive pathways so they can live into the future, and let go of the past.
Session 8: I Am Resolved
In the eighth and final session – called “I Am Resolved” – our clients use all they have learned to cope, calm, release, and create positive neural pathways in the previous, and practice alignment of all the levels of their consciousness.
Through the Pathwaves NeuroEmpowerment™ program, we use a proprietary form of integrative neurofeedback – what we call Neurofeedforward™ – to influence the nervous system, and recondition your responses in order to live a life that embodies love over fear.
